How to use
How to use as a laundry booster:
1. Scoop 1/2 tablespoon for HE washing machines or 1 tablespoon for standard washing machines. (scoop included with steel/paper tin)
2. Add oxygen powder directly to the drum before adding clothes
3. Wash as normal. Powder dissolves in hot or cold water and is color safe. Do not use with wool or silk. Do not use with septic systems.
How to use as an oxygen cleaner:
1. Fill a bucket with a measured amount of warm water. Use only as much as needed, as solution does not store well.
2. Add 1 tablespoon of powder for every 8–16 oz. of water, or 1/4 cup of powder for every gallon. Allow powder to dissolve fully.
3. Use solution to clean surfaces and soak objects. Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. Rinse surfaces thoroughly after use.
Full usage instructions
Oxygen Brightener is a bleach alternative that acts as both a laundry booster and an oxygen cleaner. This color-safe product brightens, whitens, and deodorizes your clothes by removing the dinginess and build-up that accumulates over time and reviving fabrics to their original vibrancy. It is also a powerful oxidizer, making it an effective cleaner and sanitizer for tough stains around the house.
For laundry that needs a boost to remove stains and sweat odors, add Oxygen Brightener alongside our Laundry Powder. For a full load of laundry, we recommend using up to half a tablespoon of Oxygen Brightener in a high-efficiency (HE) washer and up to one tablespoon in a standard washer. For large or extra dirty loads of laundry, double the amount of Laundry Powder.
Many washing machines are designed for liquid laundry boosters rather than powders. We suggest adding oxygen powder directly to the drum before adding the dirty clothes to the machine. This ensures the powder dissolves adequately.
Less is more. For loads that are less than full, you can decrease the amount of powder you use. Though it may seem counterintuitive, too much laundry booster can make clothes feel unclean. Excess powder can get caught in clothes and washing machines, resulting in build-up and causing unwanted odors and dinginess.
Oxygen Brightener is not compatible with natural protein-based fibers, such as wool and silk, or with septic systems.
For home cleaning, Oxygen Brightener can be mixed with water to create a concentrated paste or a multi-purpose liquid solution.
To create a paste, mix a 1:1 ratio of powder and water, such as 1 tablespoon of each. The paste can be applied directly to tough stains and used as a scrub. This is an effective way to clean grout, tiles, and other hard surfaces.
To create a liquid solution, fill a bucket or similar container with as much warm water as you will need, typically between 8 oz. and 1 gallon. Do not place solution in sealed containers, as the reaction between sodium percarbonate and water releases gas.
Measure out an appropriate amount of powder for the amount of water and the desired strength of the solution. We recommend 1 tablespoon for every 8–16 oz. of water and 1/4–1/2 a cup for a gallon of water. More concentrated solutions will be more effective at neutralizing powerful odors, such as from used sports gear or trash cans. Less concentrated solutions should be sufficient to remove dirt and grime from most surfaces, including mugs, kettles, and more.
The mixed solution can be used as a general cleaner with a rag or scrub brush. You can also soak objects in the solution to remove stubborn stains and odors. Thoroughly rinse any object or surface with cool water after cleaning with Oxygen Brightener.
Do not mix Oxygen Brightener with other chemicals, including chlorine and ammonia. Sodium percarbonate may irritate eyes and skin. In case of eye contact, rinse with water for 15 minutes. In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water. If ingested, drink plenty of water to dilute, and do not induce vomiting.
